Modeled after the children’s kindergarten concept, our Puppy Kindergarten service offers a structured supervised setting to teach your puppy or dog basic obedience commands while socializing them to confidently interact with other dogs, people, and the environment.
Only Positive Reinforcement training methods are used by our certified Dog Trainers.
It’s an intensive class that lasts from 9am drop off until the 6pm pickup time for a 24 or 36 day period.
Owners usually drop off the puppy or dog with us during the day for 2 to 3 days a week.
Puppy Kindergarten Daily Schedule
9am-10am is the drop off time
10am Puppy Kindergarten starts off with exercises to get the puppy accustomed to handling by strangers such as vets and groomers. We handle the paws, mouth, ears, tail, and more as a groomer or vet would. We also check for any rashes, hot spots, flea problem that may require treatment before exposing to other dogs. Any mouthing or inappropriate behavior is gently corrected.

11am is supervised playtime where we introduce other dogs and encourage appropriate play behavior. Over the course of the class, we will also introduce other people, sounds, and objects in the mix such as strangers, traffic sounds, vacuum cleaners, and more. All with the goal of socializing the puppy and desensitizing the puppy from potentially scary household items like a vacuum.

12pm is Lesson Time where we train the puppy to understand basic obedience commands such as sit, down, don’t touch, stay, come, and more. We also keep on the lookout for inappropriate behaviours such as excessive barking and gently correct any problems.

1pm is feeding and sleep time. We do potty training, housebreaking, and crate training.

2pm is dog walk time. We teach the heel position walking where you walk the dog – not the other way around. We do individual walks and group walks to increase socialization.

3pm is another “handling” period where the goal is to get the puppy accustomed to various grooming and handling situations and to correct any inappropriate behavior such as mouthing or barking.

4pm to 6pm is pickup and owner consultation time. We go over the days progress and discuss any issues or followup recommendations suggested before the next visit.
